Kingston Times Features Theresa's Latest Show, Shut Up, Kiss Me, Hold Me Tight
"An assemblage of Drapkin’s Matisse-like paintings of male nudes look spectacular against a warm gray wall. The paintings, hung salon style, consist of simplified planes of color and silhouetted shapes, which in some cases are combined with patterns or hieroglyphic symbols...Broad areas of olive, ochre, pink, blue, mauve juxtaposed against white, brown and black gives the works a graphic flatness and urbanity, as if they were signs."
An Exhibition of Male Nudes in Kingston, NY
Clove & Creek is pleased to announce its summer exhibition with an opening reception for the artist Saturday, July 1 from 5-8pm. A dozen paintings will be shown in the exhibition, which runs through September. The bright and bold figures are graphically modern, which is especially interesting considering Theresa’s use of pastel, one of the art world’s oldest mediums.
